Manuka Honey

I’m often asked whether I recommend the use of Manuka Honey against Helicobacter pylori.

The answer is “No” and here’s why:

Whilst Manuka Honey does have antimicrobial properties against H pylori we must always remember that honey is essentially sugar.

Studies have shown that people who haveĀ H pylori usually also have a yeast or fungal infection in their digestive system (these infections are the same as those which cause thrush and oral thrush). The yeast is called Candida albicans.

Candida feeds on sugar, honey included. So if you take Manuka Honey you run the risk of feeding the yeast overgrowth.

This can, and often does, lead to a worsening of symptoms in people, or even the development of new symptoms becauseĀ Candida overgrowth can cause the same or similar symptoms to H pylori.

Controlling candida overgrowth is important when considering treatment for H pylori. This is why I always run a Stomach Cleanse using Matula Herbal Formula. Matula has been shown to have antifungal actions as well as antmicrobial activity against H pylori.

When you use Matula, you’re not only killing the H pylori, you’re also controlling the candida at the same time.

This is very cost- and time-efficient and brings optimal results when used with an anti-inflammatory diet, where the biggest problem causing foods such as gluten and soy are removed from your diet for 60-90-days.

Using this approach you will resolve your symptoms faster and at much less cost.

Wishing you great health,

Dave.
